Donation Pages: Processing In Memoriam/Honor gifts

You can allow supporters to donate In Memoriam on a standard donation page. The supporter can also choose who to inform of the gift, and who the gift is being given in honour to.

In order to process In Memoriam/Honor donations through your Engaging Networks donation pages you simply need to add an additional field to the page to flag the gift as ‘In Memoriam’ in the data. The fields are tagged fields in your Account Data Structure. Add them to your Account Data Structure first and then they will be available to forms.

Form fields

Standard donation pages are used for In Memoriam donations. In addition to standard fields like credit card number, email address and donation amount, you will need to add the ‘In Memoriam’ fields to your donation page. 

This needs to be set to the value Y if the supporter chooses this. A checkbox is a recommended way to take this value.

Viewing and exporting In Memoriam gifts

You can view In Memoriam gifts in the Lookup Supporter gadgets. An In Memoriam gift will display as a single FIM transaction.

If exporting, it is important to note that In Memoriam gifts are stored as pairs of transactions. Donation information is stored in a FCS campaign type as usual. In additional, a FIM campaign type transaction is exportable with the FCS that contains additional information:

• Campaign Data 5 – In Memoriam (Y or N)

• Campaign Data 10 – Reason for gift

• Campaign Data 11 – Honoree Name

• Campaign Data 12 – Inform Name

• Campaign Data 13 – Inform Email Address

• Campaign Data 14 – Inform Address 1

• Campaign Data 15 – Inform Address 2

• Campaign Data 16 – Inform City

• Campaign Data 17 – Inform Region

• Campaign Data 18 – Inform Postcode

• Campaign Data 19 – Inform Country
