page-builder – Components
The Components menu under the right-hand toolbar when editing page-builder pages is used to add text, image and code blocks into your page. These are the components that give your page its content, such as headings, form fields and submit buttons.
These content blocks are customizable and text and code blocks can be saved to your shared component library to be used on other pages if you choose.
Adding components
To add a component to the page, expand the toolbar by hovering over it with your mouse. Click on Components to reveal the options. Using your mouse, drag the component you wish to use into your layout.
Code Blocks
Code blocks are a block that can be dragged into your page-builder pages to run code like JavaScript and CSS. Unlike code in your page template, they run on the page they are placed on but only when previewing the page, or loading it via its Live URL. They are generally used to add CSS styles or Javascript to your page, but anything else can be added such as YouTube embeds, or Facebook pixels.
Image blocks
Image blocks are used to add a single image to your page. You can load one directly from your image library, paste in the URL from an external source, or upload a new image. Text blocks can also contain images, but image blocks can only contain a single image.
To create a new image block, drag in an image block from the toolbar components.
Text blocks
Text blocks are a frequently used component that can be dragged into your page-builder pages. They are used to display headings and text and also linked images. You can place multiple text blocks in a page. Like other blocks, they are placed inside rows.
You can drag a Text Block from the under toolbar’s Components menu. An editor will open and you can simply type in the text you want to add.
Shared components
The shared component library in page-builder is where all of your images, files and shared components are stored. Shared components are items that can be used on multiple pages, such as HTML templates, ticket templates and display widgets (which are always stored as shared components), along with any text blocks, form blocks, code blocks or thanks emails that you have saved to the library.
